About the book
-
- Vedic Mathematics is the name given to the ancient system of Indian Mathematics which was rediscovered from the Vedas between 1911 and 1918 by Sri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji. According to his research all of mathematics is based on sixteen Sutras, or word-formulae. For example, ‘Vertically and Crosswise’ is one of these Sutras.
- These formulae describe the way the mind naturally works and are therefore a great help in directing the students to the appropriate method of solution. Perhaps the most striking feature of the Vedic system is its coherence. Instead of a hotch-potch of unrelated techniques the whole system is beautifully interrelated and unified. The book has been divided into 21 chapters each followed by 2 Exercises.
- Exercise I with questions on the topics discussed in the chapter and other comprising questions from various competitive and management entrances along with the solutions for both the exercises.
- This book aims to describe the sixteen sutras as proposed by Swamiji in simplified ways, and will prove to be highly useful for the students preparing for various competitive entrance such as CAT, MAT, Bank PO, LIC AAO etc in which fast mathematical calculations are required to be done in a few minutes.
